The Planting Consultancy, services provided

This service is offered on-site or remotely (virtual). All consultations are available to purchase in the Store.

During the consultation we discuss what is working in the garden now, what could be done to improve the garden, what maintenance work could be carried out and what plants to add etc. Ideas in terms of function, such as social areas, kitchen garden, play zones, utility areas (sheds, washing lines etc.), privacy, lighting, structures and habitat zones. Each consultation is followed up by an ‘Action Plan’ which is a summary of all that we discussed with the ideas and suggestions in one place for you to refer to. It includes a suggested Plant List to guide you when adding any new plants to your garden.

If the structure and layout of your garden is already established (e.g. patio’s and lawn) and the planting has yet to take place, then perhaps a Planting Plan is the next step. A Planting Plan specifies the species and location of plants. These can be particularly useful to people who wish to work on the garden themselves. You will receive a to-scale Planting Plan and a Plant Schedule in this package. A quote for this service is provided following receipt of all relevant details about your project.

The Planting Consultancy works with Architects and private clients in developing a Proposed Landscape Plan that will satisfy the planning requirements of the relevant council. Often councils will request that a plan includes amenity areas, addresses issues
with water run-off, privacy and that any new planting blends in with the surrounding landscape- especially if it is in a rural setting. A quote for this service is provided following receipt of all relevant details about your project.
